20 Weeks, here we come!

I cant believe its been so long since I last posted anything. Mommy has been busy getting involved with other moms for support and friendship through Bible Study and MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers). My Bible Study meets in the childrens area at the church so I have been leaving Emery in the nursery for that time. Our bible study meets right around the corner from Emery’s room so I felt pretty good about it. I also had a friend who has two kids give me a tour and explain the system that the Children’s Ministry uses down in the nursery. I felt so much better about leaving Emery in the Nursery after that “tour”. (Thanks Michelle!)

Dan and I have been so wrapped up in watching Emery do something new every day. She is so amazing! Emery loves to be held so that she is looking out at the world and she is just taking everything in. When she gets fussy we take her outside and she immediately quiets down and tries to see everything there is to see outside. She has gotten so big. She is now 14 lbs and 25 inches long. We have recently started feeding her rice cereal twice a day. She is such a big girl now. She would rather “stand” than do anything. She is learning to grab toys and she loves to suck on her hands and her thumb. The last Sunday in April was the first time we left her in the nursery at church. I was a bit nervous because our Sunday School Class is on the opposite end of the church from the Children’s area. But when we went to pick her up the lady keeping her asked us “Does she ever cry??” I was so proud of my little girl!!

In the Baptist Church families dedicate their young children to the Lord. This is not a christening or a baptism. It is an opportunity for parents to commit to raising their child in a Christian home with the help from the Church family. This Sunday is one of the few times during the year that our church has this Parent/Child Dedication service. Dan and I will be dedicating Emery on Sunday. It will be a very special first Mothers Day for me. Our church, First Baptist Columbia, is aired on TV. Channel 19 from 11am-12pm in the Columbia area. You can also click here to see the archived video of the service. It is the May 11th, Mother's Day Service.

We are looking forward to our first vacation with Emery next week. We are going down to Hilton Head with my family for a few days. We promise to have an update and pictures from that memorable trip!

Hey Guys,
Glad to see such a beautiful big girl. Jill, I told you to put your trust in Him and everything would be ok and it is. Emery is growing like a weed. Yes, yes, she will put you on her own schedule LOL. I just wanted to let you know I was thinking of you and glad all is well. Enjoy your vacation and post some new photos when you get back. Give Emery a hug for me and you and Dan take care.
